Cable Gland - Waterproof RJ-45 / Ethernet connector - RJ-45 - ID 827
I need dwg or dxf drawings for this item. How can I get one of these drawing formats for this product?

Re: Cable Gland - Waterproof RJ-45 / Ethernet connector - RJ
So I purchased of couple of these from Adafruit, and it seems they don't fit the boots that are on the ends of most ethernet cables. (Maybe it fits some boots and not others, but my ethernet cables appear to have pretty standard boots.)
The problem is the boot extends too far up the cable, and the gasket that goes around the cable can't sit completely within the fingers. Tightening the nut causes the gasket to be pushed complete out of the assembly.
Is there a trick to this? If it's just incompatible with some or all boots, can you please add a note to the product page?
Thanks.

Probably it's designed for bootless cables. I'll ask someone to update the product page.

Hiya when we first got these we tested them with some cables we had and the boot wasn't huge (just like, a little tab-protector) so that could be it. Updated the product, you can try peeling the boot off (carefully!) with a blade.

Looking at the photos on your product page, I see your cable does have a boot, and it looks roughly the same size as mine. The boot+connector on my cable is 34mm long, fwiw.
I'll try to cut the strain-relief off the boot, and if that fails, I'll just cut the connector off and crimp on a new one.
BTW, the note you added to the product page could use a correction. In the statement "the boot can get in the way of the cable", it should be "gasket" instead of "cable".
Thanks.

Is a screw on cap available to protect the exposed RJ45 socket when there is no cable attached?
