[HELP]Nokia 5110 Screen- Weird viewing angle

Post by mkirsch42 »

I just recently soldered up the Nokia 5110 screen and ran the pcbtest program after following the wiring instructions. Though looking at the screen from a foot away at around 30 degrees produces the expected animation, looking directly from the top only produces a block of solid black pixels- not at all like the pictures in the tutorial. It seems that the "off" pixels are for some reason being powered, just slightly less than the "on" pixels. Does anyone else have this issue or have an idea what is going wrong here? Thanks in advance for your help!

Wow, I feel stupid now. All I had to do was lower the contrast level. Consider this thread closed. :P

It's only a mistake the second time, and then only if you admit doing it. ;-)
