Hi,
Can anyone tell me what current to expect to be drawn from the Ultimate GPS module in sleep mode? I'm using both the breakout and the standalone module. When I issue the sleep command $PMTK161,0*28<CR><LF>, I'm reading between 1 and 2 mA. I think this is quite a lot! Is that what is expected? Any way of getting it lower? Was hoping for a few uA.
Many thanks,
David

Re: Ultimate GPS current in sleep mode
The datasheet doesn't call out standby current, so I don't know what's expected.
If you power the GPS from a digital output pin, you can turn it off entirely.
You might also want to have a look at this thread. The OP uses Periodic Mode to sleep the GPS. The Arduino sleeps while the GPS sleeps. When the GPS wakes up, it wakes the Arduino.
