Have not been able to pair BlueFruit EZ-Link bluetooth to MAC OS 10.8.5 or Android Phone?
What works:
- Powers up, shows blinking (2 sec.) connection light. Have wired to this guide: https://learn.adafruit.com/introducing- ... k/overview and also just Pwr & GND
- When I wire Arduino TX to Bluefruit RX I do see RX Led flash
- Can see the bluetooth device on both MAC and Android... but can't pair.
- Have soldered pin headers, not just pushing wires in holes....
What doesn't work:
- Can't pair: MAC -Tried passcode 1234 and no passcode. Will not pair.
Android - 'Couldn't pair ... incorrect PIN or passkey.
- Pair Button when pressed blinks connection RED led just once then continues on it's 2 sec blink. If I hold for 5sec+ it never enters the 'fast blink' mode?
I have seen some issues of broken HW? Not sure what to test next?

Post a photo of your hardware and connections.. we'll see if those give us any clues.

Re: BlueFruit EZ-Link Bluetooth Not Pairing
Here is the pairing flow that does not work:
My MAC can see the BlueFruit EZ-Link If I select the BlueFruit for pair it fails "the paring attempt was unsuccessful. The device is refusing the pairing attempt."
The above screen is displayed. I attempt to pair with passkey 1234 and get same paring attempt failed as above.
If I select 'Do not use a passcode with this device' it will accept this without error but never connect/pair? See below:

Re: BlueFruit EZ-Link Bluetooth Not Pairing
OS X can be flaky about connecting to devices whose profiles have been stored.
Try deleting the profile for the EZ-Link that exists now and letting the Mac discover it again.

That sounds like a problem somewhere in the firmware.
Send a note to [email protected] with a link to this thread and the folks there will get you a new EZ-Link.

Re: BlueFruit EZ-Link Bluetooth Not Pairing
FYI community... my replacement works.
Regarding the pairing button and red light. The button will advertise the bluetooth for pairing or if paired will unpair then advertise. This pairing process seems to happen within a second or two and do not see any need to hold for 5 sec as I have read. The red light will flash slow (1 flash per sec.) when unpaired. When paired the red light will flash fast (~ 4x sec.).

Re: BlueFruit EZ-Link Bluetooth Not Pairing
Hello - I am having the exact same problem and symptoms - I sent an email to support but they asked me to post here.
Running latest version of Mac OS - tried a 2014 Air and late 2013 iMac.
Connects and then disconnects - does not appear to create the UART connection - never shows up in the IDE on v1.06, v1.5.7 java 7 or v1.5.8 java 7
Thanks.

Does the EZ-Link show up as being available for pairing?

That's a case we don't see much..
Can you transmit data during the period where the devices are paired?
