For V2.1, put the servo pins coming out at a right angle. If the motor shield board is not the topmost shield (and, if I'm using the display shield, it isn't), it is not possible to plug the servos into it. I used one of the 2x0.1", 90° male headers, which took a bit of fiddling because the servo pins are not actually separated by 0.1 in; the effect is that when I plug the micro servos in the bodies of the connectors interfere slightly with each other.
The existing connectors were nearly impossible to unsolder. Leave these as "to be soldered" by the end user. Only one soldering iron could get hot enough to melt the RoHS-compliant solder, and even then, reluctantly.
