I have product #390. Soldered the 2-pin JST cable to the battery (6600 mAh/3.7V) and shrink wrapped the wires. I plugged in a mini usb cable to the board from my MacMini usb3 port. The charge light comes on, and after 4 hours of charging the battery only shows .5 on the volt meter. If I place the volt meter leads on the Batt+ and Ground (to the left side of the JST port with the battery connected. The Charge LED briefly lights and goes out then the DONE LED lights. But only if I hold the volt meter probes to the board.
Any way to check the battery or continuity of the cable from the battery to the board?
What voltage do you measure on the battery connector when the battery is disconnected from the charger?
The low-voltage cutoff circuit in the battery should prevent it from going below about 3v. If you are seeing less than that, it is ether a bad solder connection somewhere or a dead battery.
Connection on Front side of board, only the power LED lights.

Voltage was 0.5 from the battery unplugged. Soldering was bad on + line. New photos, soldered the +/- wires from the battery directly to Batt+ and Ground on the board. The charge LED does not light. DONE LED does not light. Both light briefly when I unplug the Mini USB cable. The Load and Capacitor outputs are ~ 4.97 when Mini USB is plugged in.
Connection on Front side of board, only the power LED lights.

If the battery still measures <3v after removing your soldered leads, then the cell is dead. Please contact [email protected] with a link to this thread.
Also note that your Batt & GND solder joints in the photo have not flowed onto the solder pad. For tips on fixing solder problems such as this, please see this guide: http://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-guid ... n-problems
