Error in picture

Post by flounder »

There is an error in the low-side sensing picture at

https://www.adafruit.com/product/574

It refers to "thick" and "thin" wires. So far, so good. The the circuit shows the thick black wire going to the power source, and the nonexistent thick red wire connected to the load. As I needed to know how to really hook it up correctly, I wondered if the black wire in the picture was the black wire on the meter. A bit of experimentation with a 5V power supply and a 47 ohm resistor showed me that the correct wiring was white-to-power, black-to-load. The opposite arrangement gave a 0 current reading.

It might be nice to redo the figure so it matches the reality.
