do any of the 7" displays use a board that will understand an ega (640x350) 70hz input?
at my work we have an older end mill machine with a motor controller. this controller runs the motors so that we can make a program that will move the x and y axes automatically. the controller is basically a 386 pc with a special isa board to run the motors and associated measurement devices. the company that sells the mill will sell us a replacement pc, for $980, with a one year warranty. this was done once already when the display went bad.
the monitor for this pc is an ancient mini crt with a vga connector. if i hook up an older dell 15" lcd, the video works ok. this led me to think that any vga input video solution would work. so we bought a cheap 8" display from china. it works during post, and we can see the bios screens. as the actual .exe starts to load, the screen starts to flash white. like i said earlier, an older dell lcd will display properly at this point.
so.... will any of the adafruit display panels understand and display an ega signal through the vga connector?

Re: 7" display boards
I'm afraid the displays in our shop don't support VGA or EGA.
We have HDMI displays, NTSC/PAL, and raw TFTs that need a driver board or microcontroller to generate the control signals.

We don't make that display, so I'm afraid we don't have any documentation for it.
