I am attempting to use XBee adapters with a pair of XBee modules to do some tinkering. During the initial loopback testing I ran into an issue where the remote XBee didn't seem to be sending any signals back to the control module, despite having a jumper wire on the breadboard between the TX and RX breakout pins.
I was able to get the remote XBee to respond properly by putting a jumper on the TX and RX pins on the FTDI side of the adapter, which worked for that test, but I would like to determine why I might be having issues with the breadboard-side breakout pins.

Re: XBEE Adapter Board TX/RX pins
Could you post clear, detailed pictures of both sides of your board showing any soldering you have done and the connections to it?

- This does not work despite connecting to the RX and TX pins (the other end of this is a Teensy acting as a USB To Serial converter)
