I'm testing Audio FX sound board with serial interface and demo sketch. I can adjust the volume ("+"/"-") right after the board was reset. However, once it plays an audio file, changing the volume stops working and board starts producing random characters rather than volume setting. Once the the board is reset, volume up/down starts working again until the next audio file is played. See attached file with serial log (with #define DEBUG in Adafruit_Soundboard.cpp enabled).
I could reset the board every time, but it produces a loud "click" on reset. It's for alarm clock, and loud clicks are not desired :-)
The question is: is there a way to fix volume up/down commands or adjust the volume differently?
PS: the reason I'm using Serial interface is that I've ran out of digital PIN's on Arduino (it's a complicated alarm clock!). I guess I could use Audacity to reduce sound file's volumes.
Thank you!

Re: FX Sound Board - volume bug
I can't reproduce that behavior here. Can you please post some pictures of both sides of your sound board?

Re: FX Sound Board - volume bug
Hi Rick, I'm sorry I already soldered FX board to perma-proto board. It was from recent order on Feb 22nd.
Would it help if I share an image of my 16GB filesystem? If it's something related to audio content or file layout, you could probably replicate it that way.
Thank you!

Post some pictures of your soldering - as much as you can get of it.

Hi Rick,
Sorry it took me a while. Here is the picture of my project:

And this is FX Sound board close-up. Click on "1809 × 979" for full size.

Pins are soldered only on one side. There is a 6-pin connector next to FX board, it's for Bluetooth dongle and not connected to FX.
Thanks!

Hmmm. Maybe it's something in your code. Can you post it?
