Anemometer not working

Post by sblackhurst »

I recently purchased your Anemometer Wind Speed Sensor w/Analog Voltage
Output PRODUCT ID: 1733 http://www.adafruit.com/product/1733 for a project at the University of Utah. We
initially got the product and tested it and it worked out great but recently
the product has stopped working. We have had the product for about a month and used it 4 times. We would like to get another anemometer
for our project and need it soon to be able to finish our project but we
wanted to see if there was any way to get a replacement before we purchased
a new one. Please let me know if there is anything we can do, thanks! This
order was made through the University of Utah so I don't have the billing
info.

Check the wiring inside the weatherproof connector. There was a post some months back where the wires had come loose.

Okay, so I took apart the waterproof connector as well as the hall effect sensor to check all connections and solder joints. Everything looks solid and nothing has come apart. I also don't see any signs of burning any of the electronics. What do you recommend as my next step, we really need to get something functional soon for our school project. Thanks for all your help!
