Removal of DC Jack from Solar Charger

Post by MrCurbsurfer »

Hi guys,

I was wondering if there's a way to remove the DC Power Jack form this product:

https://www.adafruit.com/products/390

Instead of plugging in my solar panel with the 2.1mm adapter, I'd like to solder (if possible) the contacts of
my solar panel directly to the contacts of the solar charger.

I have only a small housing for these components within my project build so I'd like to get rid of these two components, since
they are taking up a lot of space.

Think it's possible without ruining the charger?

Best Regards

Dom

A solder sucker or some solder wick can help in removing it.

You can also just cut it away and connect to these points.
