Bad AudioFX Board?

Post by jefish »

I recently purchased an AudioFX board with amp (https://www.adafruit.com/products/2217), got around to playing with it today. When plugging into the Macbook the first time, I could see the T00.ogg file. I opted to delete this file to replace it with one of my own. Deleting took about 1 minute. Copying my own file to the board lasted about three minutes before OSX told me that the file could not be copied, that the disk had been ejected. The amp chip was VERY hot.

Now providing power to the board shows both the green Power and red ACT lights lit permanently. I can no longer access the board as a disk to add/remove files. I think it's dead.

I emailed them first after seeing others being sent that direction (thought I'd skip a step). Support told me to post here. So I'll email them again saying that I have. :)
