I have the FTDI Cable #70 (with the clear end so you can see the led).
I pulled the latest zip file from the FTDI site.
After loading the FTDI drivers I get this error in the Device Manager:
"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required
for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have
installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be
malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"
Windows 7
Driver Date 7/10/2015
Driver Version 2.12.6.0
Under details
ftser2k.sys = 2.12.06.3
serenum.sys = 6.1.7600.16385
ftserco.dll = 2.01.03.1
ftserui2.dll = 2.12.06
Device is the Adafruit FTDI cable 3v3, the part number is #70C
I pulled down the FTDI uninstall kit and have uninstalled and reinstalled
the drivers using the FTDI executable file.
I have an email into FTDI tech support, but thought you may have seen this error before. What are my next steps?

Check to see what the folks from FTDI have to say. They'll have more up-to-date information about the drivers and OS compatibility issues than we do.

Re: FTDI Cable 3v3 (part #70C) -- Driver Code 52 Error
I got a huge reply from FTDI with things to try and diagnostics to do today (they are in England, it was waiting for me this morning)
A unload and reload of the updated 2.12.06 drivers did not work.
An unload and install of the 2.10.00 drivers dated 2014-2-21 did work.
I'll post again if FTDI comes back with an answer.
Love the clear cover on the USB end, nice to be able to "watch the data" go back and forth. Another great Adafruit design innovation.

Glad to hear they got back to you quickly, and that you found a configuration that worked.
