little part discrepency

Postby arpad » Mon Oct 03, 2011 9:45 pm

Just got my USBTinyISP and doing a part check I came across a discrepancy.

R1 and R2 don't look proper. They have brown-black-gold bands which doesn't seem to be the 27-68 ohms the parts list calls for.

My question is, what's the value supposed to be? That 27 to 68 ohm range seems kind of big to me so I thought I'd ask before I go out and find some replacement parts.

I'm using the parts list at http://www.ladyada.net/make/usbtinyisp/parts.html since none came with the kit.

Thanks

Brown Black Gold would be 1 ohm.

Can you post a photo of the resistors?

Sorry, no. I really just need the value of the resistors. I'll get them myself since I'm more interested in getting the kit built quickly then in exacting justice from Adafruit. It's just that the range of values given, if I'm reading the parts list right, has me a bit buffaloed.

Is anywhere between 27 and 68 ohms acceptable? It seems like a pretty wide range of values so I'm questioning my interpretation of the parts list.

Thanks.

Anything in that range should work. The 47K pictured is a good middle-ground.
I'm just curious how you ended up with 1 ohm resistors in your kit. :?
Our apologies for the inconvenience.

47K? OK, a bit of fat-fingering since I finally ran the resistor code on the pictured resistor and it's 47 ohms.

Okey-dokey. 47 ohms it is.

Thanks

Good catch. Still on the first cup of coffee here....

Thank you and hopefully the folks at I3 Detroit will take pity on a poor but honest lad who simply wants to get his USBTinyISP kit together as a first step towards world domination.

Ooops. Probably shouldn't have mentioned that.
