Hey,
I have just installed avrdude-5.11.1 on my ubuntu linux desktop but I cannot get avrdude to recognize my usbtiny. I do not have it connected to an avr chip or target board (just have usbtiny plugged into usb port).
INFO:
adafruit USBtinyISP v2.0
libusb and libusb-dev are installed (dpkg tells me i have "libusb-0.1-4" "libusb-1.0-0" "libusb-dev" and "libusbmuxd1" packages installed)
green light comes on when plugged into usb port (red does not)
have tried unplugging and replugging to different usb ports (and restarting computer w/ and w/out usbtiny plugged in)
all pins are soldered to contacts / no solder "bridging"
I have checked every forum I can find on the "could not find usbtiny device" error but none of their solutions have worked for me. Please Help!
