Troubleshoot Kit

Post by ferdesz »

I am getting no response from this kit I built.

No green light when I plug it in, and not recognized by AVRDUDE.

In response to the essential questions:
FIRST: Kit
SECOND: Windows 8 on Dell Laptop
THIRD: programmer=AVRDUDE target=Atmega1284
FOURTH: This is my first time trying to talk to a chip

I think you have diode D2 installed backwards

Rick, you are totally right. I was able to resolve this by removing the diode, turning it around, and resoldering it. Due to the confined space, I put the diode on the bottom of the board. The PCB still fits well inside the plastic case.

Thanks Rick!
