Gemma board, malfunctioning usb device error
I bought a Gemma board and wired it up to an led matrix last night. It was working fine, I could put it into bootloader mode, send it files, and it controlled my led matrix just fine. After about 6 hours of use, my computer started showing the "malfunctioning usb device" message when the Gemma was plugged in. The Gemma shows the green power light when plugged in but is unable to get into bootloader mode. I have tried reinstalling drivers, using different cables, using different usb ports (powered/unpowered, 2.0/3.0), and even using different computers (another PC and a Mac). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, after searching a bit, I was afraid it was going to come to that. I guess I'm going to have to go buy myself an Arduino Uno.

I read through this article and it mentions thisfranklin97355 wrote:Try this https://learn.adafruit.com/introducing- ... bootloader
I don't think the Gemma board has these? or they are labeled differently? I'm just not sure how to connect the Gemma to the Uno.Connect:
Trinket VBAT+ pin to Arduino 5V (or just power it via a battery or USB cable)
Trinket GND pin to Arduino GND
Trinket RST to Arduino #10
Trinket #0 pin to Arduino #11
Trinket #1 pin to Arduino #12
Trinket #2 pin to Arduino #13

Re: Gemma board, malfunctioning usb device error
OK, on the Gemma 0,1,2 are D0,D1 and D2 and apparently reset is on the back as per this note in the tutorial.
Secret Reset Pad
On the off chance you want to reprogram your Gemma with an AVR burner, the bottom of the board has a large pad that is connected to the Reset pin. We use it for testing and you will likely never need it but it is there if you do.
