Hi there,
I bought the Arduino Starter Pack and I think I'm stuck on Lesson 3.
It seems to me that I got the smaller sized breadboard that would fit on a fully-assembled Prototype Shield. I see that I do have the Shield, albeit unassembled.
So, am I to take from this lesson that in order for me to complete it, I either:
1. Need a larger breadboard listed as the "Standard Solderless Breadboard" in the Get Your Gear list at the top of the Lesson?
-or-
2. Follow the instructions on assembling the Prototype Shield Board, which would be my first-ever introduction to soldering?
Or am I missing something in the package?
If you answer my question, I will tell you the secret to how I created the backwards 'b' in my post title!

It is possible to complete lesson 3 using the smaller breadboard without assembling the ProtoShield.
But learning to solder is fun too!

Huh. I am having trouble discerning how that would be done from the two pictures in the lesson. Yeesh, I am not even sure where to begin. The longer breadboard has rails, for instance, whereas the smaller one doesn't.
Might be getting ahead of myself...

I did more than ponder. I've completed step three.

just on the protoshield, I got up the lesson 3 and want to build my protoshield as it will be useful in future. the board seems to sit too high. The USB female port seems to be stopping it from sitting flush on the arduino uno.
What am I doing wrong? Is the protoshield board that came in the starter pack made for the uno?
thanks
