Device not being recognized

Post by haveavoice »

Hi!

I plugged in the Arduino uno and the lights came on just fine but the "Found new Hardware" didn't pop up. I'm using Windows 7 so I went
Control Panel >> Devices and Printers
Then under "Unspecified" I double clicked "Ariduino Uno" (Image 1)
I double clicked that which is Image 2 and went to the Hardware tab.
Then I double clicked Arduino uno.
I clicked Update Driver.
Navigated to the driver i downloaded (iamge 5) and then clicked next.
And then I got the message:
"Windows was unable to install your Arduino Uno
Windows could not find driver software for your device"

Am I doing something wrong here?

Thanks for the feedback. I would post more image but 3 is the max. ^_^;

The correct driver is in the "Arduino-0022/Drivers" folder of your Arduino version 22 download. The file is named "Arduino UNO.inf".

I downloaded the Windows 32-bit driver from here and can't find it: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm

Am I blind or something or am I downloading the wrong thing?
