Lesson 3 using Arduino Uno

Post by haveavoice »

I'm going through lesson 3:
http://www.ladyada.net/learn/arduino/lesson3.html

And I can't mimic this:

because my board doesn't have the holes to the right:

Where is everything being plugged into exactly?

That is a prototyping shield mentioned in the "Get your gear" section at the top of the tutorial.

That makes a lot of sense it looks really similar to the A.Uno. Another quick question, I'm trying to replicate this it by using this page: http://www.ladyada.net/make/pshield/.. but what "connects" the shield to the A.Uno? And are the red end green LEDs bent and not connected anywhere in the A.Uno so it can fit on top?

It is attached to the Arduino via pin headers. The instructionsshow you how to assemble the proto-shield. You will need some basic tools such as a soldering iron. http://www.ladyada.net/library/equipt/kits.html

Thanks a lot I didn't even think looking to the left for the navigation. I'll make sure to be more observant next time. Great instructions by the way!
