Arduino Uno -Ghost

Post by bobbybrand »

Hi,

I purchased a Arduino Uno kit on 8-1-2014. After a lot or theory and reading about it. I finally find the time to work with it. This week i started a new project, my second. And I believer that there is a ghost in my Arduino...
When i setup my arduino with all the wires and the inputs and outputs in my computer and breadboard, it all looks perfectly fine. But then when i come close with my finger, the input starts to work, the button. I do not touch anything, but i just come close with my finger.
I happend twice now..
Here I have 2 videos that you can see what i mean.

Now i borrowed my friends Arduino and it works fine!
What can i do with this? Is there any possibility that i could send it back for a replacement?

Thank you very much

There are a few possible explanations. Bad ground, dodgy connection, missing pullups, wrong pin-mode.

Post a still photo clearly showing all the connections.
And also post your code.

I think you probably have a bad ground connection. Try a different jumper wire and a different breadboard socket.
