Problem with GPS MTK3339

Postby danidub » Thu May 10, 2012 4:09 pm

Hello, I have my gps with the battery on, and accidentally I have short the pins of the breakout board. The led goes always on when the battery is connected, and if I connect to the arduino powered, it goes off and on (searching for satellites), and no communication with the arduino, nothing, can I fix this? can you tell me how?
Thanks.

it -might- be OK - do you get any data output? are you following the tutorial?

I'm using the last code that was running ok, but with no output at all :(

Any ideas? maybe I can upload a youtube video? to see more clear.
Do you guys can tell me how to test the voltage regulator? and can you give me the datasheet of the breakout?

Thanks, Daniel P.

Yes, the 3V pin is 3.3V (measured with the arduino connected to my usb and no battery in the GPS.
Any ideas?

do you have any kind of logic analyzer or oscilloscope? are you positive you're wiring it up properly? can you post a photo of your wiring?

Hello, after many tests and viewing the code several times I found an error in my coding, the gps at first he outputs rare chars in the serial, but after some seconds, the signal and data seems ok, I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED but it's working!
I hope today he keeps the good work!

Thank you very much!
Best regards,
Daniel P.
