397 Camera with Mac OS X 10.6.8

by dougm1 on Fri Jan 11, 2013 2:22 pm

This is my first Arduino project so please excuse stupid questions. My question is What is the function of VC0706CommTool(EN) Setup V1-00.exe? Is there an equivalent for the MAc?

The Comm Tool allows you to adjust camera settings and control the camera from your PC. Unfortunately, there is no equivalent program for the Mac.

Quick question as it is my first project as well, is there any other way of configuring the camera on a mac i.e. without the comm tool?

I don't know of anything, other than to run a Windows virtual machine.

However, you might try CodeWeavers Crossover. I've never tried it, and there's no guarantee it will run the VC0706 Comm Tool. But it's free to try, and you don't have to actually install Windows.

Post your results back here!
