Menta with shields

Post by schnee72 »

I figured I would warn others building the Menta to make sure to bend the c5 capacitor over instead of installing it like the tutorial suggests so that shields can be seated all the way down. The 47uF capacitor sits up in the default position far enough to prevent shields from going all the way down.

I didn't think about it being an issue until after I had finished and noticed that it stood up so far.

It would be a good idea to put a note in the tutorial about the issue.

The Menta is a really awesome board otherwise!

Thanks for the feedback. I'll see if we can add a note to the tutorial.

One of my favorites for projects too. It's like an Arduino & proto-shield all in one. :D

Hello!
A good point. I was able to complete the entire design, using a PDF from the original as my build guides. I didn't install C5 one as you suggest, but as the PDF wanted. I've gotten an Adafruit Protoboard Shield to sit on it properly.
