Many months after purchasing it, it finally assembled my Internet of Things Printer (Arduino w/shield) today and downloaded the code and libraries from github today as well. But after connecting it, no prints. The output from the monitor is:
Current time: 1397163593
Last ID: 1
Connecting to server...OK
Issuing HTTP request...OK
Awaiting results (if any)...OK
Processing results...
Done.
Pausing…done
which repeats every 60 seconds so I think everything is connected properly. I ran the printer diagnostic and it prints fine.
I came across a forum post that said that Twitter now requires SSL and that is beyond the Arduino. Is this the correct source of my problem and, if so, does anyone have other suggested uses for this device?
Finally, is there some code / site / hack that would show that the IoT printer is working?
Thanks.

Re: Internet Of Things Printer - Non Twitter Uses?
Twitter's decision to use SSL for all connections pretty much killed the Arduino version of the IOTP. An Arduino just doesn't have enough memory to do the encryption.
There are more things on the internet than Twitter of course, but we haven't worked up code for things like RSS feeds or email notifiers.
If you have a computer that connects to the internet and can run its own webserver, you can create your own data service that feeds data to the printer.
