Got mine working despite those little inconsistencies in the docs, now running the blink example. Excellent little kit, thanks.

I have a question about this statement in the documentation:

"Please note that it will appear as if two pins are accidentally shorted on the chip. This is on purpose! All presoldered PCBs are tested"

I have purchased a blank board and just soldered the chip and have no solder bridges. Am I okay, or there a solder bridge on the pre-soldered units that is there to correct a board error? Sorry, but I could not find this information anywhere on the build instructions, hence the post.

ah, yes there is a short on the PCB so you dont need to PURPOSEFULLY short any pins on the ftdi chip
in fact, we suggest not shorting anything :)
