Hello, I want to measure the current draw from a 3.7V2500mAh Lipo battery connected to a Powerboost 500 that powers an arduino uno / waveshield / speaker.
The battery is connected to the Powerboost with a JST 2pin cable. Looking at the INA219 tutorial, https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-ina ... out/wiring I can see I need to wire the + of the battery to the Vin+ of the INA219, but instead of doing that, can I use the 5V (and GND) output connections of the Powerboost 500 and insert the INA219 into the circuit from there? It would save me cutting up the battery JST cable. Would I get the same readings?
Cheers

Re: INA219 with Lipo battery & powerboost
If you put it in the output of the powerboost you would get the current draw of the circuit but not the battery. If you could find a JST extension cable (https://www.adafruit.com/products/1131)you could put the INA219 in that and not cut your battery leads.

Re: INA219 with Lipo battery & powerboost
Thanks Franklin, sounds like the better solution, I'll get one of those.
Could also please confirm that replicating the tutorial wiring is the appropriate way for me to measure the current draw of the circuit? Basically I want to work out how long my battery is likely to last (give or take).
