problem whit logical level converter

Post by arogiani »

Hi
i bought your logical level convertor from robo italy :) (the one based on the TXB0108 on their site http://www.robot-italy.com/it/logic-lev ... ional.html)
Right now it's doing bidirectional comunication but it doesn't convert the level.
I connecten on the VCCA side to my 3.3V supplay, the VCCB at my 5.5 V supplay i shourtcuted the gnd and conneted them to the correct pin. Then i shortucude the enable pin to the VCCA and now all chanell on both side are at let's say around 80% of VCCB (2.60V) (channel terminal are not connected), if i force one side of a channel to gnd the other go to gnd as well (and onlyy the cahnnel i force) but it isn0t doing the level conversion. if i disconet the enable all channel go to high inpeadance.
The guy from robo italy told me to ask you for help :)
Thanks a lot
Amos

I admit is not mmy best of samrtest work of soldering but i check whit the the tester and there is no uintended short and the measure on the pin are as intende apart from the level on the b side when it should give me out high. I connent all the cable that must have fixed values (suppplay, gnd) then i connect the desiderate channel pin whit the 5V, 3.3V or GND (dependign from the side the supplay),finaly i take the measure. i coonect only the pin from one side of the channel ad leave the other not conneted (a part from the multimeter)
Thanks

Are you sure there's no short between B8 and GND?

What voltage do you get on B8 when you put 5V on A8?

sorrz i saw onlz the first question :) No it's not working as intended: i will speak for one channel but is replicated on all of them, if nothing is conneted i have a little less than VCCA on both side, if i connecte gnd to one side the other go to gnd, if i connect 5v on B itth b side go to 5 volt and the a side staz to little les then VCCA but if i connct the A side to VCCA the B side staz at litlle less than VCCA and so i can't control sistem that require 5V :(

Hmmm. I don't know. It should work. We can try replacing the converter. Please email [email protected] with a link to this thread for a replacement
