I just saw the TV-B-Gone kit. I saw the schematic and realise that you could remove the S1 button on pin B2 and simply power the entire circuit with the button.
When you press the switch, you power the Atmel and he start sending info to the TV. This mean you don't need to shut down everything and put the CPU to sleep. Even if the Atmel only drawn uA in sleep mode, using that technique won't drawn any current! Zero NADA!
The good thing about the switch on B2 is to pratice your coding skills!
