Double stick tape

Post by Duckbites »

OK this is the lowest non technical question ever posted.

the double stick tape was only sticky on one side. So I bought some different tape from Home Depot, but it wouldn't adhere to the circuit board. What can I do differently?

How hard can I 'squeeze' the circuit board to stick to the tape with out hurting the board? (Find the rookie)

The foam tape has backing paper on both sides. You should be able to peel that off to expose the adhesive.
So I bought some different tape from Home Depot, but it wouldn't adhere to the circuit board.
What kind of tape did you buy? The 3M double-sided foam tape sticks well and is available in rolls or pre-cut squares:

You can give it a pretty firm squeeze if you press on the chip or the board itself. Try to avoid putting pressure on the other components.
But the foam tape should not need much pressure to adhere. If you believe you got a defective piece, contact [email protected] with a link to this thread and we can send you out a new one.

Link is to my final product.

Chose silicon glue instead.

Thanks for the help.
