Codes question

Post by stripe_the_tiger »

Just one more quick question,

Does the AVR chip in the kit purchasable from the store have the latest TV codes, cause I wouldnt do enough AVR programming to warrant buying the USBTinyISP and so I dont want to have to reflash the AVR with the latest codes if it doesnt come with it.

Thanks

As far as I know, the kit is fairly recent, only having been released this past fall or winter if I recall correctly, so the codes shouldn't have changed much if at all over that span of time.

And then in January, Gizmodo had fun with a TV-B-Gone at CES, so those are all the brand-new TVs, so I'm guessing whatever codes are in it are good for modern TVs.

Yeah, the codes will be recent, but you won't get any custom firmware, like the compressed version with more codes, so you may email [email protected] and ask for that version, they may or may not do that, but it's worth a shot.
