As my first real Arduino project, I figured I would try to read the codes off of a TV remote (directly from the device, with no IR involved at all). However, to state a well-known fact, the remote operates at a different clock rate than the Arduino. What I have tried so far was using a digitalRead() on the remote's IR LED pin.
How would I use the Arduino to get these codes? I'm assuming I'd have to use a buffer of some kind. But would that work, considering the clock rates of the two devices (or any two devices for that matter) aren't synced? I'm here to learn...an example maybe? Thanks.
