4 i have, used the cmd listed your tutorial [http://learn.adafruit.com/getting-start ... d-software]
5 i have, uninstall the drivers and tried to re-install it for the "unknown device" and pointed it to where the drivers are, all it says its can't find them in that folder.

when connected, i see green solid light and one of the LED on.

What is in that folder? There should be a file called "Adafruit Flora.inf"

yes, that's correct. it does not seem no be able to get to it or recognize it as a driver file.

Device Manager won't actually show you the .inf files. You just navigate to the "drivers" folder and tell it to update. If it doesn't recognize it, the driver file may be corrupted. Try downloading a fresh copy.

can you elaborate some more on that plz.

when i navigate to the drivers folder and to the "Adafruit Flora.inf" file i right clicking on the file gives me the option to install it which then windows warrens, i then click install anyways.

device manager now shows it as "Trinket" and of course the Arduino software still does not allow me to choose serial port under tools :(

if you were to navigate to the file double click on it, it opens up in like wordpad.
but after right clicking on the file i saw install, then after installation was complete nothing else happens. i try "install it again" and windows message come up saying "the operation competed successfully"

I've never tried installing that way. If you use the browse option in DeviceManager, it doesn't actually show you the files.

It gets installed in your Windows System DriverStore.

That's the way it has always worked.

When you press reset on the Flora now, does it show up as a COM port?

Sounds like the bootloader is not running. If you contact [email protected] with a link to this thread we can send you out a replacement.
