I've been out of stock for my wee kit (the fabulous RS232-to-HID Orbotron 9000 for interfacing with Spaceball devices and others) for a couple months now because I can't get AtMega32U4-AU chips; Farnell's out, RS-online's out, even Digikey is saying not until early-to-mid August. Is there simply a massive shortage everywhere? Is that version discontinued? Are the AtMega32U4-AURC chips pin-compatible in the same circuits?
It's a bit of a faff; I hardly sell enough to make it worthwhile, but goodness me if people are willing to buy I'd rather be able to produce...
Is there a run on AtMega32u4 chips?

Re: Is there a run on AtMega32u4 chips?
It is a popular chip. There are a lot of 32U4-based boards out there, including the Leonardo, the Teensy, and our own Flora.
I believe that the RC-AU version of the chip defaults to the internal oscillator for a clock source. Other than that it is pin compatible with the AU.
