Programming help with sound-sensitive LED project powered by
Okay... so I dived head-first into what's turning out to be a pretty complicated project for someone with my (very limited) experience. Basically, I want to run these pixel strands: https://www.adafruit.com/products/683 https://www.adafruit.com/products/738 from my Raspberry Pi. I want to be able to control them as two separate matrices that react to sound via some kind of microphone. I've been doing research for days and I still just have no idea where to begin with coding. Any suggestions on how to best go about this would be greatly appreciated.

This tutorial is probably the closest to what you're trying to do:
https://learn.adafruit.com/raspberry-pi ... -led-strip
The LED strip in that tutorial is slightly different than the one you want to use, but it works the same general way.
