messed soldering teensy 3.1 headers

Post by chrs2021 »

Hi I recently bought a teensy 3.1 and while soldering the headers some solder got on the processor pins.
I am not really sure what to do about this, If i need a replacement would it be possible to get teensy with the headers pre-soldered, if i need a replacement?

Post a photo showing the problem. We may be able to suggest a remedy.

We do not offer assembly, but you may find someone here on the forums or at a local hacker space that could help you out with the soldering.

Ugh, well I am pretty sure this is not in a fixable state. I don't feel like hunting down a hacker space to simply have the headers installed. I'll just go check out ebay, thank you for the quick reply.

Yikes! It looks like all the pins on one side are bridged. You could probably clean that up with some solder-wick or a solder-sucker. Work a small section at a time and give it a chance to cool off a bit every few pins so you don't overheat the processor.

I just checked the PJRC store and they do have a pre-soldered Teensy 3.1: https://www.pjrc.com/store/teensy31_pins.html

Already bought one on eBay that's local to me. Thank you again for the awesome support!
