Temperature Sensor

I purchased a temperature sensor for my arduino uno. It came with a 4.7K resistor. Throughout the tutorials and data sheet I don't see this being used with the temperature sensor. Should I be using this resistor as well?

Figure 1 on page 3 of the datasheet.

If it is the DS18B20, the resistor goes between pin 2(data) and pin 3(Vdd) of the DS18B20

If it's one of the DHTxx sensors, the resistor goes between pin 1(Vdd) and pin 2(data)

It was entirely my mistake. I thought I had ordered the TMP36 (analog) where I had ordered the digital temp sensor. I apologize for the confusion!!

Hi i have the DHTXX and running the example. Its running but why am I getting these high numbers? and how would i go by making it read in F? thx in advance
