Have I Short Circuited my ArduinoBoardMicro?

Post by Barbarossa »

Hello all,
Have I short circuited my Micro by hooking up a 9V battery to 5V instead of Vin. Now when I plug it in, the blue light goes on so it still has power but the serial port is not reading it on my mac or PC. The reset button also doesn't work. Is there another way I can reset it or is it a goner?

The "absolute maximum" rating for these chips is 5.5v. Even a fairly brief connection to 9v would likely be fatal. :(
