TTL camer

Post by ningkf »

I'm trying to connect ttl camera(TTL Serial JPEG Camera with NTSC Video )to computer, similar to a webcam. I wonder how to capture video to computer and recording when a vibration sensor is triggered.
All I have right now is arduino, camera and a micro SDcard Shiled. Do I need other devices?

Don't connect the camera serial lines directly to the computer - A computer COM port uses different voltage levels. You can connect through a USB-TTL Serial converter, or through your arduino. You can connect the NTSC video out to your computer if you have a video input card.

Sorry not clarified. Im connecting the camera to the arduino board and try to input video to the computer and manipulate it. Do you imply that I need to buy an extra video card?

The arduino won't handle video at all. It will only accept snapshots over the serial port. Video is a separate output on the camera. You'll need to capture that with your computer.
