Arduino uno "Unknown device"

Post by David1995 »

Hello, I was wondering if I could get some help with the Arduino uno. The first day having the uno, it ran perfectly. However, it's now being read by my laptop (Windows 8.1) as an unknown device. I've downloaded and re-downloaded the driver various times and each time end up with the message that windows found the driver but encountered a problem when trying to add the driver to the store. I've tried switching the cable as well as using different computers and neither of those have worked either. Can anyone point me in the right direction? :?

Try to uninstall the driver (select the option that deletes the driver files). Then re-install.

It is also possible that your diver file is corrupted. You could also try re-installing the Arduino software.
