Building the lockbox from the tutorial

Post by coeccias »

Hi all,
I'm building my own version of this: https://learn.adafruit.com/biometric-security-box/parts for an engagement ring box for my GF. I bought all the stuff listed and realized after it arrived that the menta kit is all parts. I would rather have an arduino that is all put together. Can someone suggest a suitable replacement? I don't have a ftdi cable either.

The changes i'm planning are mainly cosmetic. I'm putting it in a box I designed myself and I deleted the fingerprint module. It just takes a code from the keypad to open it.

So I would just really like a put together board to serve as the brains.

Would board be compatible w/ the tutorial?

Thanks.

If you have the space for the Leonardo you will have the space for this https://www.adafruit.com/products/50 And it is chip compatable with the menta and the most common Arduino out there (more people to help you and more code)
