Qi charging a Lipo powered Yun?

Post by mongoose539 »

Hello there ever so helpful Adafruit team,

I have had quite a bit of fun playing with the pictured hardware for a current project, however I am now at the point where I would like to not only have my Yun mobile via Lipo but able to charge inductively with the Qi and pictured Lipo charger.

The battery out DC jack from the Lipo charger can power up a Leonardo I have, does this mean that I simply need to find a DC-miniUSB cable to power the YUN and charge the lipo simultaneously? Should there perhaps be something like a powerboost between the lipo charger battery out and the Yun?

Thank you all so much! Getting pretty close to accomplishing what I set out to do thanks to you guys :)

The Yun is a 5v board, so yes, you'd need a boost circuit.

The Yun uses about 250-275mA, so a PowerBoost 500 should work: https://www.adafruit.com/product/1903
