HELP WITH TMP007

Post by rmader10 »

We've been having our TMP007 sensor for a while, and a few minutes ago it just stopped working. Can anyone help us figure out what happened? It keeps saying "No sensor found"

What were you doing just before it stopped working?

Did you happen to be moving it, connecting or disconnecting it, etc?

We were testing our code with our other sensors. It was working fine, then all of a sudden just stopped.

We checked the connections, and they seemed to be fine. We hooked it up again to another arduino and still received the "no sensor found" error message.

That sounds like a chip failure.

Send a note to [email protected] with a link to this thread and the folks there will get you a new TMP007. (#2023)

Happened to buy two more of the chips before I was sent the replacement. These two chips arrived today. One works perfectly and the other one gives the "No Sensor Found" error.

I don't know what is happening. I'd be more than happy to send the two broken sensors back to y'all to take a look at.

There isn't much we can learn from the remains that we can't get from a photo.

Could you post a couple shots of the new, non-working one please? Front and back, with enough detail to see the assembly and PCB traces.

Also try replacing all the jumpers in your setup. A broken wire inside the insulation can open a whole world of debugging headaches.

I don't see anything out of the ordinary there.

I think we can write the second failure off as a statistical fluke, but if they keep dying we'll have to do some serious digging.

For now, send another note to [email protected] with a link to this thread and the folks there will get you a second replacement TMP007.
