Portable cell phone charger as a power source

Post by GDop26 »

Is there any reason why I couldn't use a portable external cell phone battery charger as the power source for an arduino project. Specifically, using it to power an Arduino Micro via USB to micro-B connector instead of using the Vin on the Micro?

The battery I was looking into: http://www.amazon.com/Anker-Generation- ... ttery+pack

Most cell phone chargers follow the USB standard and make pretty good 5v power supplies for Arduino projects.

Oops I forgot to reply back. I got the battery in and it works great with my project. When I have time I can post a picture of its integration to my project.
