Best options for an Arduino Datalogging Greenhouse

Post by tndoug »

One project I am considering is a greenhouse with weather sensors using an Arduino Mega I have laying around.
I am new to Arduino and have a lot to learn, but I would like to see if I could possibly pull this together.

Basic specs I'm considering for project are:
6x8 greenhouse.
weather sensors, assorted.
webcam?
wi-fi?
livestream to a website?
datalogging.

I will use an old powerbook g4 to run Arduino. I may possibly power laptop with solar.
Or, maybe there are better ways of doing this without using an Arduino?
I would like to hear what others think would be the best route to follow and keep costs reasonable.

Thanks for your interest.

You will probably want the Arduino of some sort to manage the sensors but everything else can be done with the laptop.
