Data Logging Shield vs. Netduino Plus

Post by kilgore54 »

Good morning,

What I'd like to do, in a nutshell: Build a portable device to receive serial data (in simple proprietary format) via UART and save it in FAT file format on an SD card.

I was all set to buy an Arduino and the Adafruit Data Logging Shield when I ran across the Netduino Plus. Does anyone know if there is any advantage to buying one over the other?

I know the Netduino is 32-bit but I'm not sure I really care about that. I prefer to keep things as simple as possible and I'm a little concerned that .NET is overly-complicated.

Thanks.
Ed
