Silly MotorShield question

Post by Danny1799 »

Hi,
I am new to Arduino and with a minimal knowledge of electronic. My problem is :
I piggyback the Arduino motor shield to the arduino uno and to control a dc motor. However, once I do piggyback, all the pins slots in the Uno are now covered by the header pins from the motor shield. Now, I want to put, say a sensor to it, but I can't assess the Uno pin slots any more. I must miss something. I know it is a very silly question but I need help on this. Why the motor shield doesn't have pin slots like in Uno?

Thanks

danny

The motor shield does have breakouts for all the pins. They are the row of holes right next to the pin headers. You can solder your sensors directly to the holes, or solder some female headers there.

Another option is to build the shield with stacking headers.
