adding a gps break out to a adafruit logging shield

I hav not been successful finding and example of adding the break out gps module to the adafruit logging shield. I found an exmple of the gps logging shield but I am not sure I understand what the difference is. Should I have gotten the gps logging shield instead. I already bought the data logging shield but have not used it yet or opened the package. thanks.

Both shields have an SD card slot for data logging. The Data logger shield has a real-time-clock module and a general-purpose prototyping area. It can interface with a GPS module by duplicating some of the circuitry from the GPS logger.
The GPS logger shield is designed specifically for GPS modules. It does not have a real-time clock because the GPS module itself is a very accurate time base.
