Stacking a motor shield and a wave shield.

Post by unorthodoxarts »

Hi All,

Complete newb - please excuse the silly question. I am trying to build a fortune teller machine (naturally,) and I am hoping to stack a wave shield and a motor shield to use two servos and a stepper motor. (I also need two different relay inputs, not that I think that matters.) I know that some of the pins for the two shields conflict.

Halp.

Much thanks.

You are going to have both pin conflicts and timer conflicts. You can work around the timer conflicts with some library hacking. The pin conflicts can be worked around by a bit of cut & jumper work on the shield and some more library hacking. An easier path might be to use one of these for the servos: https://www.adafruit.com/products/815
And one of the serial stepper controllers from Pololu.

Thanks for the quick reply, super-awesome support person. I think I'll go the easier path. :)
